its not really a guide, but only tips and tricks and whatnot.. and pardon my laziness for not editing this lol. the point is i just want to share something that maybe could be come in handy in specific situation and some trivial things and some little knowledge that i gathered even when i write these lists, so maybe this list will expand more in the future. and please correct me if im wrong on which one and let me fix it. and if you have anything that wasnt on the list and want to share, please do and i'll put it on the list with your name. so lets get down to the list:
1. you can use ammo box to be your jump base and help you reach higher places that you normally cant. just place it and jump while your character's on it.
2. zombies cant jump, and when there is a different height on the terrain they will search for another route to get you. so take advantage of the terrain around you to kill them easier.
3. you only need to maintain your body heat to survive snow storm, make some hot water and a torch. drink hot water when you see 2nd level of freezing effect to erase it completely. even better if you craft a campfire too, just make sure you have enough wood to keep you company. so this way, you dont really need to reach cabin or treehouse whenever theres snowstorm approaching.
4. easy way to face grenade launcher troop is to find an obstacle such as boxes or wall, while the grenade aoe is wide it will explode on the obstacle and wont hurt you, just make sure you have some space between you and the obstacle.
5. when fat zombie hp is at 50% or lower its running speed will be accelerated and explode after a while or when it gets near its target. but when it died this way, it wont drops anything (still need more data on it)
6. mysterious boxes in snow area will spawn every 5 minutes while the guarding zombie is 10 minutes. but everytime the zombie spawn, the box will spawn too.
7. you can avoid sand storm by not only staying in cave, but in every scientists camps and the center of the palace where yellow boxes spawn. or just see where mercenary troops are standing when the sandstorm occured.
8. to get 14 kind of fish to unlock fishing champion title is, you need fiberglass rod and a lots of metal bait. you will get fiberglass blueprint when you finished all vast's fishing mission. go to charles town beach and afk fishing there with metal bait to get all kind of ocean fishes, sometimes you can get lobster and aquarium fishes too. nb. you will get some kind of fishes from finishing vast mission
9. it seems like you can only get 2 polymer or fabric each day, whether its 1 polymer and 1 fabric or 2 polymer or 2 fabric is your limit each day. so dont bother to find anymore when you already get 2 of those but try the next day. and seems like this applies all across the map, so when you already get 2 on sand, you wont get another at snow area. you can get polymer and fabric from rare boxes, such as lv30 area boxes at sand castle, and mysterious boxes at snow highland, treasure which you can buy the map from the stronghold npc in each field, elite zombies in fall forest lv15 area and sand castle lv30 area, and from mystic creatures.
10. when you want to sell or buy something at the market, make sure you do it at one of the three trade cities, as it will gives the lowest tax of 15%. while on hope 101 and camp is 20%.
11. if you want to gather a lots of woods or stones, make sure you bring at least 20 iron ore with you before departure. so, when your axe or pick's are broken, you can easily subtitute them.
12. zombies cant cross waters, or river at fall forest. except the shallow water at sand castle. you can use this to your advantage to kill lv15 special mutant at fall forest, just lure him to the thinnest river body where you can cross it without swimming, the special mutant wont be able to use its jump attack on you, but becareful of the rocket attack and put attention on the ground to avoid the red aoe. it will only launched 3 rockets and wont do anything but trying to reach you for a while. thats when its easy to attack. by this way, the special mutant wont reset to its original location, so you have more time to kills it.
13. if you have items you dont want to be cut by taxes while you transferring it to your manor, you can simply mail them piece by piece.
14. if you want to teleport accross the map you can use some method, the first one is by the risk of dropping some of your items by killing yourself but remember to put off your equipment before kys to prevent sturdiness drops at the time of the death. the secons method is, to change line. you can find it when you open the map its on upper right corner, but only useable when the rectangle dot is red or the line is busy and has cooldown like 300s?. its not applicable for pvp map like farstar, nancy and charles town and also not applicable on instance map.
15. you can restore your health bar (or the 3rd bar in white with capsule icon) by sitting on a chair. you can regain your lost hp overtime too. but not the hunger level.
16. when you are at miska univ. and doing the rescue mission for 6 people in the building, make sure you are far from the broken bookshelf where the npc is hiding but close enough to hit it. use smg or anything with long range but not melee weapon as you will spawn the zombie horde when you are near enough to the broken bookshelf. the zombie horde will spawn only on the presence of the broken bookshelf, you can save the npc without worrying of spawned zombies after destroying it. note that when the bookshelf has been destroyed theres a red cross appeared on your mini map. use this as a clue whether it has been destroyed or not, cuz sometimes you will runs out of time and the fog will cover your view. if you havent seen it on the mini map then keep shooting.
17. you can get one feces fertilizer once every some hours when you use the toilet.
18. you can gather a lots of honey at fall forest, try to chop down the only different trees with yellow leaves and big chunk. a beehive will drops and you can get one or two honey in each beehives. try to look up on the leaves is easier, at least for me to find the tree.
19. in fall forest, you cant find any deer when the night time but backpacker zombie will haunt the place.
in sand castle, when sandstorm occured, the enemy troops will be less likely to chase you down but will still shoot you on sight, but when you shoot one of them, the others wont react unless you accidentally shoot them. also the kudus are running out of the map. and its the same for snow highland. the animals will running while the enemy troops are rounding at the campfire.
20. gifting npc is limited by 10 times a day, but the amount of the items you can give is limited by the item's slot limit. ex. you can gives 100 cypress leaves on one go and it will be counted as one chance out of ten.
21. theres a time out for zombie when they cant reach you or cant do any damage to you, when the timer runs out they will run and reset to their origin location and while in this phase they cant be attacked. so make sure they are, at least trying to hit you with rocks (cuz some zombies do) so they wont reset until you kill them.
22. always get your daily newspaper beside daily camp treasure, not only you can read some news but also you can burn it on a campfire and get green healing fire.
23. buy daily armor and weapon accessory upgrades from corresponding shop at your camp. those items are rather expensive but good investment on the long run.
24. try to gift npc with at least blue crafted materials, such as cement. each cement gives any npc's friendliness point by 260/pcs, and you can give 30 pcs each time which gives at least 7800 friend points each try. this method is way more efficient but a bit costy.
